1 3/4 c - flour
1 c - sugar
1/4 c - cocoa
1 tsp - baking soda
1/2 tsp - salt
2 tsp - coffee
Mix these ingredients together in a bowl.
1 c - milk
1/2 c - shortening
1 - egg
1 tsp - vanilla
Add these to the first mixture and pour into a pan.
1/2 c - brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/4 c - chocolate chips

Sprinkle the sugar on top of the batter and the chips on top of the sugar. Put in oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. Do not overbake and be prepared to see it disappear.
