Christmas Cutout Cookies

2 c. butter
1/4 c. orange juice
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. (scant) salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. sugar
6 eggs, well beaten
8 c. flour
1 Tbsp. soda

Butter Cream Icing:
1/3 c. butter, softened
2 1/2-3 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2-3 Tbsp. milk
Mix icing until a nice spreading consistency, might need to add more powdered sugar or milk.

Mix all ingredients. Chill dough for 1-1 1/2 hours. Roll out thick, not thin and cut with your favorite cutters. Bake at 375°on a greased cookie sheet for 8 minutes or until done. Do not overbake. Ice with your favorite icing or the icing recipe with cookie recipe and decorate.
