Southwestern Burgers

2 lb. Ground beef
1/2 lb. Bulk sausage
1-4 oz. can Chopped green chilies or fresh chopped peppers
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. Hickory liquid smoke, optional
1/2 c. Crushed crackers
4 1/2 tsp. Chili powder
3 tsp. Ground cumin
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Pepper
8 slices Pepper Jack cheese
8 Hamburger buns, split
Additional toppings, as desired.

Put meat in bowl. Mix next 8 ingredients and gently mix into meat. Make 8 patties. Grill, covered, for 5-7 minutes on each side or until done through. Top with cheese, and grill 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on buns that have been toasted until warm. Serves 8 people.
